What is Buttock Lift?
Buttock Lift, or Butt Lift is a plastic surgery operation that removes excess fat and sagging skin that occurs in the buttock area over time, and ensures that the area is streched and tightened. In recent years, it is frequently preferred by women, especially.
Why is Buttock Lift Done?
As the age progresses, the skin loses its elasticity and sagging occurs. External factors such as rapid weight gain and loss, the sun and the genetic structure of the individual are also effective in sagging skin.
Sagging and fat deposition at the skin, especially in the buttock area, creates an aesthetically bad appearance. Especially in women, this fat deposition and sagging in the hip area, which is one of the most attractive and sexual parts of the body, causes a lack of self-confidence and psychological problems.
With buttock lift surgery, a more tense and aesthetic appearance is achieved in this region, self-confidence increases and psychological problems are eliminated.
With the buttock lift surgery, the excess fat cells in the region can be removed simultaneously with liposuction and an even more beautiful appearance is obtained by getting rid of the regional fat. You can find more information about the liposuction operation through our liposuction services pages.
With this surgery, it is also possible to achieve a fuller buttock structure by simultaneous butt implant (silicone prosthesis) or fat injection.
Who are the Candidates for Buttock Lift Surgery?
- Individuals with sagging skin and fat deposition in the buttock area with age
- Individuals with sagging in the hip area as a result of rapid weight loss
- Individuals with a normal weight, but who want to have a tighter and more aesthetic appearance on the hips
- Individuals with sagging skin due to low body elasticity after liposuction surgery
Preoperative Examination:
Patient candidates who are considering buttock lift surgery should first seek the opinion of a specialist plastic surgeon. As Soyep, we observe the following issues regarding the patient during the examination:
- The realism of the patient’s expectations about the surgery
- The patient’s mental health
- The patient’s medical history and diseases, if any
- If the patient has allergies
- Medicines used by the patient
- The patient’s use of cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs, if any
Buttock lift surgery is not recommended if the patient is overweight and/or plans to lose a significant amount of weight in the post-operative period. A re-examination is recommended after losing weight.
The patient candidate should quit smoking, alcohol and blood thinners such as aspirin before the operation.
Operational Information
For the buttock lift operation, a horizontal incision is made in the patient’s buttock area. Excess skin and fat in this area are removed. The skin is then stretched and sutured.
At the request of the patient, it is possible to fill the buttock with an implant (silicone prosthesis) or fat injection simultaneously with this operation.
In addition, butt lifting surgery is often performed simultaneously with thigh (upper leg) lifting surgery.
After the Operation
There may be swelling and pain after butt lift surgery. In this case, painkillers will be taken. A drain is inserted for a few weeks after the surgery.
A supportive binder is worn for several weeks after surgery. It is recommended not to move too much in the first month.
After the butt lift surgery, a scar is formed on the buttocks to be hidden in the bikini area. This scar is hidden under a swimsuit, bikini or underwear, so it is difficult to see from the outside. Experienced and skilled surgeons hide these scars better. In addition, these wounds become vague over time, but do not disappear completely.
After this surgery, the patient has a tight and aesthetic buttock appearance, and this appearance continues for a long time, except for rapid weight gain and loss.
