Preoperative Examination

The patient’s medical history and diseases, if any
If the patient has allergies
Medicines used by the patient
The patient’s use of cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs, if any
The patient candidate should quit smoking, alcohol and blood thinners such as aspirin before the operation.

Information About The Operation

If the upper arm skin is too sagging, surgical procedure and liposuction are applied together. An incision is made in the lower part of the upper arm. The size of the incision varies according to the amount of skin to be taken. With the incision, the underlying tissues are tightened and stretched. Fat cells under the skin are removed by liposuction. Finally, the incision area is sutured and the operation is completed.

If the patient doesn’t need liposuction, only the extra tissue and skin is removed from the area.

After the Operation

Arm lift surgery is performed under local or general anesthesia. After the operation performed with local anesthesia, the patient is discharged on the same day. Patients undergoing general anesthesia are required to stay in the hospital for 1 night.

There may be swelling and pain in the arm after surgery. In this case, the painkiller recommended by the doctor should be used. Pain and swelling will go away after a while.

The patient should wear a special arm corset for about 10 days. After about 1 week, the patient can return to his daily routine, and after 2 months he can start doing sports.
